    Sky+ problem

    Hi
Can anyone shed any light on a problem I have with my Sky+ box?

Picture randomely freezes for about 20 seconds and then returns to normal.

There does not seem to be any pattern to this freezing but it is very annoying.

    cheers

Thanks for your suggestion will try your update procedure.
It may take some time to determine if the problem has been cured as the picture freeze only occurs very randomely.

if ur box is in an old style wooden tv cabinet,,what happens is the fan keeps circulating the same warm air over and over again and when the box gets so hot..this problem happens..turning it off for a while cures it till it gets hot again..and eventually it will pack up totally....plus boxes need to be well vented to avoid this.....most service calls are down to people cramming all their machines into a tight space...

          Hi.
Don't think ventilation (overheating) is the problem.
Box is situated on an open glass shelf and is well ventilated on a modern Philips TV stand

          Thanks for suggestion

Hi, sorry for delay in answering but my broadband has been down.

              Signal and quality levels are:

              Input 1 - Signal strengh about 70%
              - Quality about 55%

Input 2 shows about the same levels as Input 1

              Both Inputs report Lock OK.

I believe that these signal levels are adequate but please correct me if I am wrong as I am a total newbie with Satellite TV

              Cheers
