    What's a reasonable price

    Hi Guys

What would you say would be a reasonable price for the installation of a 90cm-1m motorised dish set up.

I am in Edinburgh and am looking to pick up whatever
is availabe in my location especially any sats that show the 3pm Scottish football i.e 27W which has Setanta Africa F.T.A.

I will probably buy the gear myself but putting it up properly will probably be beyond me.

Any ideas and if anyone knows of anyone in my areacould you please PM me.

    Thanks

You cannot get setanta africa as where you are on the horizon it is impossible. Jsc sports on 13e is hacked at the moment and shows some epl games. Also 1w Digi tv is open and show epl games.
    Todays Spl
    Hamilton V Celtic 12.30
    Al Jazeera Sport +5 13e
    Sport 1 (Cze/Svk) 1w
    Sport 1 (Rom) 1w
    Sport 2 (Hun) 1w

    Rangers V Falkirk 3pm
    Al Jazeera Sport +3 13e
    Al Jazeera Sport +5 131e
    Sport 1 (Cze/Svk) 1w
    Sport 1 (Rom) 1w
    Sport 2 (Hun) 1w

All these channels can be opened.

Also plenty of films and epl.

To fit motorised dish maybe ?80 120 not sure whats involved in your set up. Not that hard to fit yourself.

tichmc9 same area and team as you mate.

Got my sat installed 1m dish in November primarily for the rare game that I cant attend. I had real problems finding someone in the area that were prepared to touch motorised sat.

I can get a few sats but nowhere near what I should be getting but intend to try and go down the route of fixing it myself when I get a chance. Good luck whoever you use and if you are pleased any chance you could pm me back just in case I have to go down that road again.

For Scottish football you are in a very good position to watch matches if you are a Rangers or Celtic supporter. As Fearona has posted every game thus far has been on Al Jazeera 13e and 1w. 1w will move to N3 shortly I suspect and we could lose 13e if they migrate to Via 3 or 4 which I assume they will do at some point although wouldn`t think it would happen overnight.

If your dish is properly installed then you should be able to pick up 26e Badr 4 and that has shown every game free to air for the last two and a half seasons The games are on Abu Dhabi Sports 2 and KTV, Kuwaiti Sports.

There are also feeds that you can pick up and I have noticed a few Rangers and Celtic games cropping up on 7e, 10e and 12.5w.

Good luck whatever you do - wish I had done it years ago.

                      reasonable price

if you have a south facing wall and its reasonabally straightforward you shouldnt pay anymore than 100 pounds but if you have a set of ladders and a hammer drill id give it a go yourself. i fitted my own 1.1 meter motorised dish in about 3 hours with my mates help and with the excellent guides available on the forums. if you do have a go at doing it just take your time and above all BE SAFE!

JJ going to try and sort it myself first mate but a pm would be really appreciated just in case it goes pear shaped.

                          thanks in advance.

Tichmc as long as you get clear unobstructed view west as well you should be ok. A 1 m dish normally better using t and k brackets though.

Anyone can install a sat system - the hard part is getting it to track correctly.

the golden rule is make sure the pole is 100% plumb/straight all the way round the pole.
