    What to do?

Hi all, I want to replace my sky plus HD box with a thinner smaller sky q 2tb box from ebay(which will fit behind my TV) if that's possible.
I have read that I have to upgrade my lnb on the dish to a wideband lnb(don't know how hard that is for me to do).
    Any advice would be appreciated.

My understanding of the contract for the Sky Q service is that it's similar to Virgin Media cable, in that the box never belongs to you, it's only hired. The old Sky+ boxes were yours to keep after a year, but this isn't the case with Sky Q.

If you have a current subscription to Sky, then I doubt they would transfer it to the Sky Q box bought from Ebay, as it would still be registered to the previous subscriber. Sky Q boxes are supposed to be returned to Sky when you stop subscribing.

You are right about changing the LNB. Sky Q boxes use a different LNB to that of the universal type previously used. You can buy a hybrid LNB that combines a Sky Q LNB & universal type in 1 unit, so you can run a Sky Q box and older freesat/Sky+ boxes as well.
