Not to sure but i think a phone line has to be plugged into second box to stop people doing just that.

not sure if it works or not but i know you only have to keep your phone line in for the first 12 months of your sky contract

I've never had my phone connected to my sly box at all, and they've never questioned it. I recall the installer coming around, looking at my NTI's stuck on the wall and thinking better of it. I doubt they'd cancel your card just because they couldn't phone the box....

I know someone who has been sent a letter telling him that he will need to ensure its plugged in and connected to the phone line or he will be charged for 2 subs....

I think the box phones sky, not the other way around.

been there tried that you have to have phone line connected for the first 12 months of any new contract, i managed to string it out for 3 months (with a lot of calls and finally a letter) before being cut off.

with multi room you must have the phone lines connected all the time. not 12 months but all the time. the point is that each box rings thru to sky telling them where they all are. you could for example take the box away for a while ( a couple of weeks at a time) then bring it back say twice a month and let it do the call backs. that way they get their calls and you get u full sub for ?10. ....and i get a tenner for giving u that bit of advise. cash please no cheques.

your right but what if you had voip. for example. no.1 example street has a number of 01536 123456 with box one connected

box 2 is at no 10 example street with the same voip number 01536 123456

so surely this is the only way it would work
