A mate of mine is after a good quality HD receiver as doesnt want to risk a clone DM800 due to tuner issues and cant afford an original! Wants it to run ccam to run the sky HD channels as he is being given a cline smoothly without glitches. And wants to pay about ?200 quid... Any suggestions guys?
Cheapest and most stable (NON CLONE) HD receiver that runs CCAM 2.13????

Nope absolutely right assuming you mean he wants to run CCcam and cleint AND server then there is nothing at the moment... Give is a month or two though and you can expect to see at least 3 Enigma2 based receivers (same as Dreambox uses) and all should come in around the ?200 mark if the press we have had already is to be believed...
Or if you are happy with a non-linux receiver that can work with CCcam as client only then there are already a couple of receivers on the market that fits the bill...Comment

No it does not have to have server propeties, he is just going to be a client! So maybe the AZ box or similar?
He is used to his DM500S though so needs it to be easy to access his ccam easily via pc etc!
Ideally he wants another dreambox but non clone HD but how longs a piece of string regarding the date of the DM500 HD????Comment

If you can go with just client then I was thinking more of the Spiderbox to be honest... We don't sell them but we maybe doing so soon, think the other sponsor on here already does... The only thing I am not 100% about is using your genuine card with this receiver, but you can easily find this info out... But this is non Linux and cccam is setup and/or operated via on screen menus, not via PC. To me this sounds more like it fits the bill to what you want and is available now...
Otherwise hang fire just a little while longer and you should have the choice of at least 3 Enigma2 receivers which (probably) will run CCcam as client and server, just as he is already used to on his DM500.Last edited by Sat-Shop; 15 February, 2010, 14:34.Comment

Cheers mate, I'll let him know. The spiderbox sounds good actually, he'll be connecting to somebody with an offical card, so that should be ok? I'll tell him to try and hold out for the new dm500HD though or one of those other boxes you are referring to!If you can go with just client then I was thinking more of the Spiderbox to be honest...
