    Topfield Satellite [Help required]

    MODEL: TOPFIELD TF3100FEi

Hey there, i have a rather large problem with my satellite box. I have had it stored away from 2/3 years in my cupboard, before that i used it to watch international channels [greek] I already have the satellite dish set up and ready to use however one of the main problems which i have spotted is that there is no signal at all, it is 0%. As well as i deleted all of the channels because none of them were working and i plan to rescan to get all the channels back just after i manage to get a good signal back up and running.

Please help me if possible, and please note i am a noob at satellite stuff. please tell me as though you are teaching a little child because i do not have much knowledge of these stuff :P

Just incase if needed, i have a rs232 cable so i can update firmware etc...

Do i need to configure my location using the satellite dish? if so then how.

In the end result, i will want to be able to watch greek tv if that is possible.

I took a few photos to show all the settings which it is set to

If any other info is required about the box then i have a manual which includes all the specifications, unfortunately i am unable to upload another picture because of the limit but o-well.

Any help will be greatly appreciated , and if i manage to get this box running smoothly then i will return the favour of donating to this site to keep it running

    Regards, Chris

May sound like daft questions, but

    1) What sort of dish, motorised?
    2) If not is it pointing at Hotbird?
    3) How do you know that your dish is aligned correctly?
    4) Have you tried another receiver to eliminate the dish/LNB being the problem?

    Regards

      Thanks for replying,

Yes, my dish is motorised and it has been used before to view international TV, it is a DiSEqC 1.2

I am unsure if the satellite dish is aligned properly, however it should be in place because it has never been moved/touched. the only person that touched it was the installer,

I have not tried another reciever to see if that was the problem, however today i was testing the settings and as i tweaked a few settings the signal bar rised to 33% and went down to 0% and that recurred all the time for about 6-7 seconds after that it stayed at 0%.

Also, when it asks me to choose a satellite the longitude and latitude just stays at 0 and i am unable to change it. do you know why?

Now that i have restored everything to factory default i need the information to input back such as vertical/horizontal...satellite name..etc astra astra2 hotbird...many more so is there anything i can do about that?

      Cheers

Much as I hate to post links, this would be the starting point

which as far as I can see is the manual. There is a section on setting up the motor etc.

        Cheers
