    Which Receiver and Which Motor?

    I have two questions:
1.Firstly I have a 100cm dish and I want to buy a motor for it what motor would you recommend (a dark motor or a technomate or something differerent?)

2.Secondly I am going to buy a box but I am unsure to go for either a technomate or a darkbox or a linux box I want to use it to watch 3 o clock kick offs.

I have not got dsl broadband but I have mobile broadband that is quite unreliable at times so I would prefer a box that does not require to a internet access while watching tv.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Intresting to see you say go for a Dream box. at the moment I have a 1m motorized dish & a TM5200d and because the Digi channels are going i was looking to get another box so I can carry on watching the football.

so is the Dream box still the one to go for? and could you say why you think that please.

      Thanks

the dreambox has far more support for one, plenty of images around for it.

but some prefer the newer technomate linux but tbh i dont know alot about the technos.

if your not going to connect to the internet go for a std technomate as you can still patch these at the moment and put keys in for most of digi tv and 1 or 2 others they are also user friendly, BUT be awarethis may not last much longer. a LINUX box wont be much use to you unless you connect it to broadband internet as you will not be able to download keys or use any of the other internet functions.
technomate motors are 1st class I"ve 2 of them 1 I"ve had for about 4yrs and use it daily and is still as accurate as when I bought it stay away from polar mounts unless you know what you are doing they are more complicated and a H-H DISEqC only needs the lnb cable and will drive a 1mt dish easily.

go for a VU+ Solo or VU+ Duo if you can afford it - The VU+ Due is being compared to the DM8000 with two less tuners..

I am sorry this might sound really stupid but what does VU stand for?
