    Francesat installation problems

Hi Guys I need help please, My father is currently using secam decoder to recieve f.t.a telecom sat channels on 5 degrees west so when I heard of france sat service I decided to get a top of the range hd box (Aston) complete with decoder card new ect ect but when I plug in to set up it scans channels and finds certain channels but not fransat channels when looking at signal strenght on th aston box is showing only 65% tried adjusting the sat dish ect but no change. is a different LNB required for HD.

also we have cable & sat but only one cable going around the house does anyone know of good scematics to set up a system to run both signals up & down one cable to distribute the signals to 2 other rooms from main box threw one cable as we are currently distributing threw a wireless link but this does suffer from interferance. I dont mind using combiners & splitters but not sure how to get best signal and how to calculate if amps reqd.

Any help on both these problems appreciated.

    fransat.

hi m8,concerning your fransat receiver. how long as your father had the system as the analogue secam channels were in the 12ghz band and you might have a telecom band lnb installed on your dish, also how big is your dish? but saying that the ab3 sat is very powerfull and should be receiveable easy with a 60cm dish. if you want to split the rf to 2 other rooms you will probably need a rf amp, why dont you get a quad lnb then use the fransat stb for the main room and get 2 cheap fta stb,s for the other 2 rooms, although you will only get fta you will get fr2/3/5, tmc, tv8, nrj paris. you would have independant control in 3 rooms, its just a idea m8 but a rf amp, 2 eyes, 2 remotes, combiners, splitters and cable would set you back a few quid and for not much more you could get a quad lnb and 2 fta stb,s and not suffer from rf interference. regards mdt. ps, you do not need a different lnb for hd

Good idea m8 now I know that there are free to air channels I can use an old GB sat Reciever I have to check signal and channels ect. then once I know is recieveable I can reconnect the fransat reciever. I am currently using a universal LNB & 60cm dish but is setup below level of balcony to keep out of sight, recieves ab sat ok but not new fransat channels. I have a spare LNB so might try before buying a quad LNB I will still need combiners & splitters though as have cable tv & sat
