Its the HD which must freeze and glitch if the dish is not properly set up.

so is sky's sd a lower quality than vermins, my friend is using a 50" lg plasma, so maybe the sd picture can't properly fill the screen?

when you say ghosting' what do you mean? if its blocky and breaks up, maybe the dish needs aligning a bit or theres some kinda obstruction near by. ie tree.
is this a full install? ie new dish and cable? if not get them back to change it all. (if thats ok with you).

if a dish is not alligned proper ..the picture will go in blocks pixalate..meaning their is errors in the digital signal..

you cannot get ghosting with digital .so hes talking a load of crap ..

possible box problem ..as usual at a guess..

are you watching via scart on sd..
                dreambox 800 tech 500 ( ubuntu 10 .04)... 1 m dish v box 2 acuator ..

yes you can get ghosting on large tvs on sd these flat panel tvs can be prone to it, ive seen it in the sony shop on a 42inch full hd that was on sd. but this one was only 50htz, these tvs dont handle sd as well as the old crt tvs

i was taught on the rdi course by digital uk .. that you cannot get ghosting from a digital broadcast ..

i havent came across one yet m8 ..if it was that case then the tv is at fault not the digital broadcast ..

either mpeg 2 or mpeg 4..

digital is far more robust to interference .. not like anolouge in the past ..

the signal will be ok im just saying these tvs dont handle sd aswell as crt tvs, hd is a different matter, a person i know has a 40inch lcd hd ready with a vm sd signal and the picture is a lot worse than my 28inch crt tv

and always said well could be box ,,i know sky took out the component out of these boxes..but they are always haveing probs .

im my eyes thats why i dont fit anymore for them ..

its one of the two .

What do you class as ghosting??
it could be interference from other devices connected to the tv! switch off all dvds, games consoles, video players if you still have such ancient technology, see if that cures it, or do you mean the picture is pixellating ie: seing squares on fast moving images! This could be either low signal but I doubt that as it would effect the low power HD channels first, or viewing SD pictures through a scart, use HDMI on large tvs, also try adjusting contrast and colour to see if you can improve it.
