My Dm500 is beginning to get on my nerves too,its a completely unstable pain in the head.
It locks up at least a couple of times every day and the SQLite EPG plugin gets unstable and too large after a few days .
I've heard the Tm500/600 is alot more stable ,I'd go for the 600 myself as it has a pvr which I'd like, the only problem is the lack of a decent epg on 28.2.
I am going to buy one. I have the tm 1000d and its great with a motorized dish, not like the dreambox so hard to scan for sats. Is the tm 500 easy to get up and running from when i take it out of the box. I found the dm500 a pain to get going.
i have a tm600 and i havent even took it out of the box yet but i know its going to be a 1000 times better than a dm500s clone. i had a dm500s and it gave me nothing but problems from day 1, the only good point was i learned how to install images/ ftp keys and roms but ill never touch one again! p.s. the e.p.g. is down to the broadcaster.

hello mate I recently bought a TM500 and although its not connected to the the net yet I"ve been haveing a bit of fun playing around with it.As I already had the motor/dish set up with my old 1000d it was easy to get going but its not so user friendly as the TM std boxes.I have flashed it a few times with no probs using "digidudes" serial lead guide, and I found the UR images to suit best, the gemini image froze a bit on my box.
