I use rawlbolts or you can use large rawplugs/coachscrews.

ive used m10 coach bolts with 10mil plugs and never had any problems but i have also used 10 mill expansion bolts for a 1.3 meter fixed just to be safe.

i like using the rawlbolts, always remember if in doubt, its best to use a strong fixing your sure about than one you have doubts with.

what length rawl bots do yous use lads ..as modern day bricks have holes in them..

is m10 rawl bolt equal 14 mm hole to be drilled ..

i think off the top of me head ..if so .

thats a big hole ..dont move to end off the brick ..

hi ..yes ive got some m8 = 10 mm hole to be drilled ( better idea)

.. but i think the length will be to short .on most houses and it will not nip the brick as it expands

cause of the holes in the bricks ..

              i think i would need longer ..

We give away m8 bolts and plugs with our dish packs which are 10x50mm if that helps.

If you are that worried about getting a good fixing, there is the option of using cut down pieces of threaded rod, and then using a resin injection kit into the hole you have drilled into the brick, you insert the section of rod. This will give you a fantastic fixing in new style house bricks..I have used this method of fixing for years, and now you can get these kits from B&Q etc

i use the 65mm ones for a standard fixed and 75mm for 1meter motorised t+k arrangment. i must say i like the threaded rod and resin idea. if in doubt just go bigger!, on my 1.1 meter motorised with a 3m scaff pole and 2,ks and 1 t i used 8 no,10 exspansion bolts, regards mdt

Rawl bolts all the time..... Even into new house bricks.

If you where to position the bolts either side of the vertical cement seem you woul miss any holes in the bricks.

The major problem with using rawbolts is that if they are not far enough into the brick they can / will cause the brick to explode, and the face of the brick can come away....so be careful and make sure that you choose " male " rawbolts, then make sure they are well embedded into the brick.

well i will try them out ..

when i postion the bracket ..i alwas try to get fixing to the middle of brick with fixing ..

i know its not going to exact middle wth bottom hole of the k bit ..

have seen people drill the top bracket holes on same brick ..

but not me .. i always be atleast 3 to 4 bricks from the top down for top bracket as well.

i think the fixings i have are 750 mm

in length ..and a standard brick is 120 mm ,,is it im not that sure .

just dont want to get a spinning effect with fixing if you knoe what i mean cheers ,,

                              thanks guys.

just interesting to heard other peoples views..
