free sat on sky

hi chaps not sure if my title is correct '
I have a sky box that was my moms it was just sitting in her wardrobe so decided to hook it up to recieve just the free channels.
It has a viewing card with it and i've connected it to the phone line' i get loads of free to air channels but i could do with registering as when i try to purchase the boxing on prime time channel 480 it doesnt recognise my account because i havent got one ? any one no what to do its horrible streaming over the internet
