    Google CCCam not ccap.

To get the most channels you ideally need a motorised satellite system.

Get a dm500s first, then play withh ccam, if you can get all that working and setup then get a motor. Cheaper if it does not work for you as the dm will defo sell.

if you have very little networking or IT skills the Dreambox or Linux box wont be the route for you you mate..

You need to be happy doing the very basics..

Make your ISP address static and associate it with a DynDNS address that you will have to setup.
Make your Dreambox IP address static over your LAN
Transfer files from your PC to Dreambox over your LAN
Use a FTP program such as DCC
Edit config files as well as other files by inputting specific Linux code

All of the programs that you use to do the things in the above mentioned post, you will use windows.

Linux is just the operating system of the box so you dont have to know anything about linux.

Also, these things sound the hardest things in the world, that is until you have the box in front of you and you have the support of forums such as this to explain items such as ftp, static ip's etc.

You can pick up a DM500, Eagle, or TM500 for around ?70, and a motor and sat for around 50 to 60 quid. If you have a broadbadn connection and something to share (i.e. a sub) you are well in.

You can get valid subs for under ?50, such as xxx subs.

You cannot talk about cardsharing on DK so that is pretty much it as far as whats allowed. Google CCcam, read up.

If I can do it, anyone can.

              ok thanks for the replys.

i have a sat dish on the wall from when i was with s*y.

              can i use that?

do i have to keep the computer connected to the deram box?

found a technomate tm500 kit with 100cm dish on fleabay... any good?

is it basicly the same as when i flashed the eurovox and away it went?

A 100cm dish will do for for most of the sats you will want to see. The sly dish will not be able to pick up some of what you may want, so I would go for the 1m dish.

You dont have to keep the PC connected all of the time. Only when you want to change the setup.

Thats an okset up for the dish mate.

I think you will need to read a bit more about cccam, it is probably far more complex than any thing you have seen in the cable scene. The concept is card sharing, and I think myself and the lads here on DK will tell you to stay away from the pay servers.

think your trying to run before youre walking personally.

do you have a box yet at all?

have you read the stickies at all?

suggest you do those first as if youve just come from cable your jumping in the deep end here.

the simplest setup would be say get a dish point it at one of the satellites that there are codes available for and see where you can go from there.

you have a sky dish at the mo. is there line of site for a motorised dish to be practical?

are you or can you fit the dish yourself? if not you will have to factor that into you costings. that alone may put you off.

what is it you actually want to be watching?
its point less having a motorised dish that your not going to move.
also if all you want to do is watch movies or sport or what ever maybe the dish you have already is enough.

do you have the patience to be trying out different images in order to get to the right one for you and your set up.

also you may want to look at the box your about to buy more closely as for example you may want a pvr. or twin tuners. or hd.
i dont know about motorising a dish using a dm500 but i think there are issues you need to consider with these boxes.

one step at a time i think.

Indeed, a dm500 and its clones are pants for running a motor. If your new to the scene and want to watch the sky channels, one way or the other you will have to get a subscription from sky. You might want to consider getting a few mates onboard to cover costs... Thats just one way of looking at cardsharing

I have a DM500, Eagle, and an OM 500cs and they are all great for driving my motor and have never had any probs.

To start off with get a DM500s, Eagle or TM500s, they are cheap and if its (satellite) not for you there is a big resale market and you will not lose much when selling it on.

Subs, you will need to look around. Al Jazeera, SCT DigiAlb are all okay subs which are affordable and you can do "things" with.

Please watch the CS related talk. Referal to cam names And the basic concepts are Okay but i think naming specific cards And What needs to be done with it is going slightly too far.
In other words take a look at dedicated cS forums.
