Ive recently moved to sky, at the time it cost me ?30 for installation..Im moving house in roughly 3 weeks (on hindsite we should have waited til we moved to get sky fitted, but cant manage without footy)...Sky said they would charge us ?60 to install at the new house..And if we installed it ourself then our warranty would be void..Its a SKY+ HD box...Do you think with some haggling i could get it down to the initial ?30????(or any other ideas)?

tell them theres a dish and cables from previous tenents that had sky and you just have to plug in the box -

wont buy that, tried that when I wanted to go to HD already had Sky+, called Sky and they said charge of 30 quid for install, explained to the guy it was a matter of repalcing box and pairing card - 10 mins max time but still wouldnt budge, got so pissed off with this cancelled my sky on the spot.. **** em I sayComment

i should know m8, i,m an engineer...1 box not a prob wether its connected to a phone line or not..or if its in portugal or preston as long as sly are getting their money its not an issue...unless its multiroom then it is!!...just do the move then tell em when ur in and alls up and running about your change of address..Simples..Comment

thing is as youve just signed up they have you over a barrel as you are bound to the 12 month contract. if theres a dish there already chances are they would know as the previous people MAY have had sky. im sure they cant tell you the warrenty is void though as the box is not tampered with. and if you can get someone to put up a dish for you i doubt you will need sky at all unless you have to replace your box within the first 12 months. all in all i wouldnt worry about what they say on the phone.
if anyones ever really hard up for an install (ie long wait or mony wise) i would say just stop a sky van and ask for a favour.Comment
