    Dish installation help

    Hi all

I am attempting to install a fixed dish but having some problems I hope someone can help with.

I have an 80cm dish that was previously fitted in my garden. I now have to move this so have taken it down, relocated it and run a new cable to the dish. I have a good line of sight.

I have used a compass to find 28e and also have a slx sat finder (no idea how to use it though). I have adjusted the angle to try and find the sat but no joy.
No matter what I do I cannot get a signal. I am using an DM500s. For SNR I only get 59% constantly with ACG at 87-90% My BER is jumping all over the place.

I have redone the f connectors umpteen times and am happy that they are well connected (I followed the guide on the motorised sat installation thread). The cable run is about 12m.

I have tried two different LNB's with the same results. I have also plugged the DM500 into my sky dish and get a strong signal.

Is there anything I can try that I have not? Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

    Many thanks
    Elbow

Use Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com
Elevations and where to pint are all on that site. Just enter address or long/lat.
