Thanks for all the help and advice guys, it was much appreciated.

I've just used the link in another post for the Sky Business Partners offer. Free HD+ box and every channel = ?24.25 a month.

It goes up to 48.50 a month after 12 months. But by then i'm hoping that there might be some movement on n3... you never know... (so i'm keeping the trusty old 500c!).

If u go for it, go online, get your code, then phone 08442 410486 (options 3 / 1 / 2). Tell them u got an email from Sky with the offer in, give them your code and you're in. Installation next Saturday....

Yea but you onlyhave to keep it for 12 months anyway

      THE TRUTH
      The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

I've always had something legit for my UK TV.. either Virgin or as now, I've just moved to the Sky 1/2 price deal for 12 months..

The Dreambox is great for sports and movies.. I wouldn't like to rely on it for my primary viewing though..

Unlike the cable boxes which explored a floor in Virgin's encryption and very rarely went off, the satellite side requires the use of a share, which cant be talked about here..

Sat encryption is excellent and sometimes channels and packages are lost for a week or two until the cam guys come up with a fix..

There are thousands of channels out there.. i get the main packages from across Europe and its the best thing for the football..

Would i use it to replace my platform to viewing UK TV.. no way

My advice to you john8867 would be to get the Sky HD deal and a clone Dreambox 800 if you want to watch Saturday 3pm kick offs..
The coverage given by Sky UK is second to none for build up, half and full time programing..

The Europeans just show the match, no build up, adverts at half time and once the final whistle blows the program ends..

Run the sky HD off the sky minidish and get a second bigger dish (80cm - 100cm) for use by the Dreambox
Thank you very much for this useful post to a newbie in sat. I intend to keep my Sky HD sub because the quality is second to none and all family can use it easily. All I am looking for is the ability to watch live premier leg football not on sly. I have been to a friends house today where he has 2 days ago had a sat motorised system installed. He has a 1mtr dish which picks up seven sats excluding sly. He had it fitted by a local sat company and they have fitted a e box elite reciever which gives him open access to all 7 sats. He has paid ?440.00 for everything and they want ?100.00 extra for hd. There is no subscription. Am I right in thinking this is cs. Is this good value.

reading it again to me it does not sound like cs that would be a bonus fee on top, either monthly,6 months ,year.extra 100 might be for a better box that runs hd.
just to add are the footy matches in a different language?

He had the option of paying extra ?100.00 for fitting a HD box. He tells me he is not paying any sub and the company said everything updates to his box via his wireless router. The football was in English but it was not sly which he does not get. He gets three Astra channels plus 4 more. I have never heard of a e box elite receiver. I just wondered if this was a good package for a novice.

Build a server using a tidy little NSLU2 and off you go mate

I also have the 12 month ?24.95 deal, once its over I plan to reduce the packages down a bit
