i presume you mean the technomate 5000ci .i would say the technomates are a lot easier but the dreambox can be more rewarding when you get the hang of them

Technomates are by far the better receiver as regards to being user friendly. The dreambox is much more advanced and is only for the experienced. If you are buying you first sat box then buy a 5300 it is by far the best starter box. Dreamboxes come into the frame when cardsharing and streaming is introduced. Hope this helps
