    SpiderBox 9000HD Probs

Do the peeps who own a SpiderBox 9000 HD have problems with the box rebooting its self at random times when viewing HD channels only whether they are FTA or encrypted.

Viewing SD channels there is no problem, but I brought this for HD, otherwise I would just use my DB7000.

If you do please let us know.

Mines brand new, purchased on Saturday 27th March, so new batch I think, it's a pain in the backside not being able to watch a full HD program, my wife was getting annoyed watching Nat Geo HD and every couple of mins it would reboot it's self.

Have to wait for a patch to fix hopefully.

      Cheers

        hi mate

only got mine on the 14th march
but i have read all different posts in many forums
so when i purchased it i knew there were problems
if you download all the patches and load in order
        it may resolve your problem
you can not hurt the box doing this

it seems strange to me why the uk distributer and its forums refuse to admit compatbility issues
i guess it would damage sales , however now with the technomate guy on board ' magic ' the fix should now not be to far away

Done all the patches in order upto the latest one, still no difference, thing is they should let us know if they are working on it as any HD channels are unwatchable at that's the only reason why I brought it oh and because it's a good price. Whose the technomate guy then.

What file did you use to reset the box.

          Cheers.

            hi

i did not reset the box as such just loaded patches in order, one thing that does cause rebooting with my box is having an external hdd fitted, have to unplug when not using it

the technomate guy " Magic " if you look on al*at forum or the spider one he used to support the technomate stbs do all the patches etc, but now he has changed to the spiderbox team. if any one can sort the software / firmware out it thats the man

magic does not make these patches! He simply releases them to open forums to protect the identity and source of the real creators.!

Well I've tried the patches all in order, tried with and without external HDD, different HDMI leads etc. and nothing works, today was testing on BBC HD and this is how it went.

                Switched box on.
                1 Min - Rebooted
50 secs - Locked up so had to switch off then on again.
                30 secs - Rebooted
                26 secs - Rebooted
47 secs - Rebooted and Lost Audio then locked up.

                And the cycle continues.

Taking it back at weekend now as I'm fed up with it and will end up throwing it out the window.

LOL, yeah I know, the server or router will only cause glitching or freezing of the picture not make the box reboot itself, but that still don't explain having all servers off and watching a FTA HD program and it still does the same thing. Funny thing is somebody at the Als*t shop insisted they are waiting for a patch to sort the problem out, that's why the post just to confirm it from DM or somebody.

Shame really as I do like the box and the picture is supurb for about 1 min until it reboots.

They need to admit it and fix it, more people need to post about the problem, unless it's the newer boxes having this problem only.

I have one on the way, I think ill leave it in the box for a few weeks to see what happens regarding this patch. Im not in bad need of it yet , I have a tm500 working grand. I only really got the spiderbox for the world cup.

the spiderbox on the whole is a good hd box
there are some issues with rebooting as above
however if you use the gift channels for footy etc
you can live with the odd problem
the main concern is the problem of incompatibility of Cccam at present and the support forum refusing to admit this point blank

SD channels are no problem what so ever and with my own *lines works flawless 95% of the time, the Gift is ok but does break up more then my own. Thing is I purchased for the HD side of things and not the SD as I already have a Dreambox 7000s.

You are correct though about them not wanting to admit anything in case it effected sales of the box.

At least you can discuss the issues on this forum. The Spiderbox forum remove and ban any posters who rock the boat by saying there are problems with it.
