What in the world technology is meant by the word "clone" is it a good or bad thing or does it even matter that much.

I have noticed that the clones are fine but the signal is worse on a clone 'Dreambox' than an original plus its slightly harder to update software because of limitations.

The clones are not exact replicas but about 95%.

The main benefits are that they are around half the price and almost as good as the original boxes.
