Is it worth getting a spiderbox 9000hd, without a HD tv? I will be looking to get a HD tv soon, or should I just go for the 5000 sd? Any ideas? Thanks
Is it worth?

hi mate i would get the spiderbox hd you have a choice of two models now the 9000 and 7000.
it is worth considering rather the 5000 sd because even without a HD tv the spiderbox can be used with a scart instead of a HDMI, and still be able to display HD channels on your standard def TV.
plus there are quite a few HD channels now, and more appearing
hope that is of some helpxtrend ET 9000 HD , ipbox 9000 HD & 1mtr Dish -
Go for the HD version of either 7000 or 9000 HD, saves having to buy another box when you get the HDTV.System:

hi yes mine had a problem if you read the thread you will see that myself and theghost had are problems sorted out
support from bobi enabled the problem to be removed from my spiderbox and the ghost simply exchanged his box and all is fine
to be honest unless you own one of these boxes you are not really in a position to comment
the dm800hd is a good box granted but beware of buying direct from chinese suppliers as i too could point to as many problems with support etc with themxtrend ET 9000 HD , ipbox 9000 HD & 1mtr DishComment

if you can afford it go for the HD box, then your halfway to getting top class tv pics.
Maybe I can clarify the spiderbox for you.
I purchased it on the basis that a FTA hd box will set you back over ?100 alone,a decent one anyway so for a little more i get the gift thrown in on the premise that i know it may disappear at anytime, that part is the gamble but up to now and i've owned the box 3 months its been ok.
Not perfect but for what you get its more than adequate and when the gift ends you go the other route with the box which means it isn't rendered useless.
you'll have to google the other route as its not talked about on here.Comment

Since the exchange, the box has been perfect, I've had no problems what so ever, I've even removed my Dreambox 7000s from below the TV now and put it away as the SpiderBox is all I need, I do have Gift and Premium running at the same time with no probs.
Plus there's a new patch released today with what seems like some good updates.
TBA, I purchased this because it was a lot cheaper then a Dreambox HD, I will never buy a Cloned Dreambox no matter how cheap they are
Thing is the decision is yours to make, but I think the Spider software will only get better.System:
