Differences between a linux box/non linux box

Could someone please tell me why have a box which runs on linux. what the advantages are for having a linux box. Why go linux compared to a non linux box.

You can share out on a linux box. Google it. We don't discuss this on here sorry.

The linux boxes have more power, more support, the ability to customise menus etc and the support tends not to die out because linux is open source.

This means when there are problems with non linux receivers the manufactures can simply stop support when they want.

So linux=your in control.

Remember dont be fooled by boxes claiming to be linux such as the Azbox because the manufacturers have not opened up the source code.
