topfield 5500 pvr

could somebody be kind enough to assist me. i have a topfield 5500 pvr which worked perfectly since i bought it 3 yrs ago. but unfortunately it crashed on me a month ago. i sticks on menu mode,but after a fashion i manage to shift it onto some other function. the recorded programmes i have on the harddrive will not let me enter the recorded services mode. so you see folks ,all in all i'm in dire straits. been on google to see if any repair service can be found,but that seems prove to be more difficult than one can imagine. so if there's help out there in sat land i'd be extremely grateful. any suggestions. many thanks.kindest regards,len hill.

Same happened to my topfield 7710 hd pvr m8,turned out to be the mainboard and the hdd unit knackard ..

you could try re-flashing it with official topfield software. you would need a null-modem lead to do this. i found these for you as they may be of some use. regards mdt

Your right m8 [it is worth a try] didn't work for me though!!..
