    More LNBs

    Hi mates
    I have 1M dish with 4 LNBs (13E, 26E, 28.2E and 19E), I would like to add 4 more LNBs to point to 16E, 36E, 23.5E and 1W

Can I do that with a fixed dish? I have Dreambox 500S but I don't know if it can see more than 4 LNBs?

    Cheers

Last time I had a motorized dish was over 10 years ago and used to break or didn't work when raining or windy, also I tend to change channels alot so bit frustratuing waiting for dish to move when moving betwen satellites.

Never had a prob with mine. I can understand its quicker for sat changing using multi lnbs but would never bother with the hassle and expense myself.

And do you get all channle on each sat? I miss a few on each sat. but I think this is due to positioning the dish to serve all sats. I might be wrong because someone did it for me and it could be bad install.

take a look at the wavefrontier dish which can use up to 16 lnb,s with a 40 degree spread, but as manic01 says they arent cheap and surely a properly aligned motor with your 1m dish will do the same unless you need instant channel change with 2 or more stb,s. regards mdt

Yeh, I think motorized makes more sense, from what I read you can get 1W and 16E with 1M dish. Can you get 36E? They show a lot of footy. 7W & 25.5E are impossible with 1M dish I think?

Hi.36E and 1W are probably expecting a bit much but the others 23.5E and 16E are probably possible with the help of another 2 way diseqc switch but an 8 way would mean that you only have one cable to connect to your box. Your best bet, as you obviously are set on expanding would be the set up suggested by MDT if you dont want the motorised dish. I am on 6 sats at the moment via 4 dishes (no restrictions in Ireland) but as you are limited to one- the choice has to be yours.

The 36e is on the russian beam and not accessible. If motorising 1 west will be no probs.

One question about motorised please, can I have 2 receivers connected both to one motorised dish but each receiver showing a different channel? I can do this with dual or quad LNB but is it possible with motorised becasue I think each reciever will try to move the dish to its own direction?

its possible with a twin lnb but obviously you can only watch different channels from whichever satellite the dish is pointing at. as for the motor getting confused you have 1 receiver to control the motor and a second which just has a direct feed from the second input from the twin lnb. regards mdt

if you have a loopthrough lnb outlet on your main stb you can have full motor use on the second set as long as the 1st set is on standby,if the main set is on the second set will only get channels on the same TP as the main one.

                            Thanks mates,
I will install another motorized system and leave current fixed LNBs system intact so I have freedome in using both stbs.
