    Sat newb needs help!

Hi, I have had cable for years and since vermin gave us N3 i have been thinking of getting my 80cm dish out of the garage and setting it up, but i just dont know where to begin with which box to buy and what else i need to be able to get English films, sports and kids stuff on my tv. I do have an old Sky tv box if thats any use? my dish has an IRTE omnisat motor attached but as i said its been in storage for years so not 100% if it works. having looked around on the net, i was hoping to be able to receive progs from Hotbird, Astra and Thor. hope this helps in advising me as to what equipment i need.
Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

get yourself a cheap stb and set your system up,at the moment c+nl/nova cy/bulsat are open and there is also the usual rcs/arqiva/b.i.s.s via emu/keys.there is plenty to keep you happy and when you have set the system up you can then do a lot of reading on dk and the net and when you feel more comfortable and if you like what you get then you can get yourself an all singing and dancing system with server access ect!
