Outstanding receiver IMO, running Enigma2 and now supported by various third party groups, it works, and works well. Support from the manufacturer has also been excellent with updates coming thick and fast... Stocks now due in the UK on April 30th for a select few dealers.

Its better! It's twin tuner, HDMI, 2 scart, front panel display, full sized receiver with built in fan. The VU+ takes 3.5" internal SATA drive upto 2TB, has twin card slots, twin CI slots and can be flashed by USB stick. This is BY FAR a better buy than the DM800 which is only around ?10 cheaper (for genuine ones at least!)... These are sold out Europe wide at the moment, and with very good reason!

They are likely to be pre-sold by the time stock arrives, we only have a limited number, we ordered more but in the end had to settle for less, if you want to make sure you get one this time round you honestly will be best to pre-order one...

Chances are they will be sold before they arrive from almost every dealer! I can guarantee you though one of our batch will be yours for the end of this month if you pre-order.

If you don't go for one this time round the next batch could well be at the end of May now.

Do we need to imge these boxes as we do with DM boxes and what images? Do cccam and other things I can't go into details work easy on these boxes?

Yep exactly the same idea, as they are running Enigma2 firmware just the same as the DM800 and DM8000. These though have their own images and groups supporting them (they are in no way at all a Dreambox clone).... They have PLi, Dream Elite and VTi groups supporting them, they offer ALL the usual plugins you'd expect including full support for CCcam. The other massive advantage is it's so easy to flash, just download your firmware, transfer it to a USB stick, insert into VU+ USB port (front or back) then turn the receiver on and wait, that's it, job done!

Being Enigma2 if you are used to a DM800 or DM8000 then operation wise these are almost identical. A lot of software like DCC and Enigma Edit etc. will work with these, uses the same E2 bouquets etc.

I know this could well just sound like some sales pitch(!), so please don't just take my word for it, have a read around elsewhere, you'll soon see what all the fuss is about with these!

Vu+ DUO Twin Tuner HD,whats the tuner like on weak signels those who have used.I take it a ex hard drive can be used by usb as i dont like built in hard drives.Video resolution worrys me abit @ 576p, 720p, 1080i,this is well down on azbox. Can you record with Cccam & watch back your recordings on the media player without problems.Thinking about getting another linux box @ some point.ps will it do 4.2.2 like the Azbox.

From what I have read tuner seems to be pretty good. Appear to be the boxes to go for just now.

Good to see you back Sid.

Yes tuners are considered to be very good and sensitive, recording while playing back and with CCcam is no problem, there is even a video somewhere on YouTube of a guy recording 6 channels at once all using CCcam, though of course that would be transponder specific, it is only twin tuner! 4:2:2 feeds are a no at the moment. Both SD and HD pictures are considered to be first class (recently had a driver update to improve this even further), it's best to use the auto resolution plugin to get the best results. EPG plugin works great for most major Euro providers and includes PIG if you are using a right skin. They are a fantastic bit of kit, hope to have a spare one when this end of April stock arrives so if anyone wants to come over to Leicester for a demo they'll be most welcome!
