Can I use my Sly dish to pick up freeview.

Can I use my Sly dish to pick up freeview. I have recently purchased a new television with freeview installed, and changed from Sly to Cable. However as I have had a Sly dish (and now cable) I do not have a normal Ariel. Would it be possible to plug the sly dish feed into the Ariel socket of the television to enable the freeview facility. If possible, would I need to alter the dish away from Sly to pick up another signal. I gave away my Sly box as I thought I would not require it any longer, but I may be able to get it back if required.

You need a freesat tv or freesat/sky box. Freeview is aerial only.

      Thanks for the speedy reply.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Looks like I will need my Sly box back. Will a freesat box give me more channels than the Sly box and would I have to mess with the dish position.

If it's a sky dish it's in correct pos already. I personally would go for a cheap freesat hd box for ?60-70 from argos. No sky card needed. Good epg as well. Also BBc/ITV etc HD channels.

Thanks for the advice Manic01. I think I will go for the freesat box. This will give me some HD telly in the future. Thanks again.

            Make sure it's HD freesat.
