    Some advice pls

    Hi Guys

looking for some advice really as dont get involved with this sort of thing as normally on the garage sections but her indoors has asked me to try and fnd a way to get a sat box from portugal to run on our old redundant black mesh sky dish and get tv from portugal area

i presume it is a sat box but may be freeview as there is no card slot but on the rear is 2 threaded connections rather than the normal puch on ant connection but in the setup menu there are loads of options as to the sat you want to link to i.e. hotbird, astrab etc and type of dish, lnb

    many thanks guys
    much appreciated
Oh and by the way if my post has been at all helpfull

hi mate.. you'll need to move your old mesh dish as its at 28E which is set for receiving Sky UK..

The biggest Portuguese broadcaster is TV Cabo who broadcast off Hipasat 1C/1D at 30W..

You'll need a bigger dish to receive the signals, around a minimum of 80cms..

Also TV Cabo is encrypted in Nagravision 3 so you will need either an official card which is about ?800 for a year, or you will need a linux box to engage in card sharing, which cant be talked about on here..
