    New setup

I finally have my 80cm motorised dish on order should be here by saturday. But then i get told the weather is going to be rubbish so i guess i have to wait to put it up.
Can anyone recommend a few good channels they watch and what satellite their on. The box i will be using is TM 5400 usb super.

    Thanks

If you patch your box Digi tv is still open @ 1West.have a read of the stickies in the technomate section.
I"m also sending a motor setup guide you may find useful.

I had time after work to put the bracket up i just gotta do the rest over the weekend.

I get good signal level like 90 to 97% but i seem to be struggling to lock onto a satellite.
Perhaps i dont have the angle of the dish right or something i will try again in the morning.
Maybe the dish isnt high enough i got it nearly the same height as my old sky dish i had.
          Would that be high enough.
Any tips and advice on what to check.

I know exactly where you live now. Edit the post And remove the long And lat.
You can leave these at 0.0 when installing. These only matter If you intend to watch the very furthest east And west satellites which aint possible unless your really high up.

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

the quality bar is more important than signal level.
height of dish is also unimportant as long as any obstacles are at least twice the distance away as they are high.all the info needed is in the guide I sent but it can be difficult to find that 1st sat, turning the volume up on the tv can help.we all struggled with our 1st setup.there is also a very good guide in the sticky section on setting up a motorised dish.
are you setting up on 1West?

yeh i been trying it on 1 west but i cant even get the quality bar to move from 20 to 20%.
I may just have to pay for someone to setup

I"d only pay someone as a last resort mate there are alot of sats up there so you do need to move the dish carefully l/r & up/down are you useing the usals method?we can talk you through it if you let us know what stage you are at.what settings do you have on the "motorised settings"menu. if you are setting up on BBC world @11.325 H 24500 you should get around the 80 mark on the quality.

I have been trying the usals method. maybe i dont have the latitude angle right on the motor.
I also think i dont have the dish high enough i had to put it lower than my old sky dish as i dont have a ladder high enough.

and i dont know what to put in on my technomate for latitude and lonigtude.

What info woudl you need to help me set it up.

The height doesn't really make a difference as long as there's no obstacles in the way. Look on multimap for you lat and long. If you don't enter these you wont find anything.

Make sure your pole is plumb, face motor south. Drive dish to 1w Bbc world news and tune in from there.

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

0.2 west Iwould think but you must have the correct latitude set on both the motor and box.
if you pm me your town or village I can make sure you have correct long/lat.
