    New DM800se and 7020HD

World premiere: Dream presents new HDTV boxes
DM800HD se and DM7020HD at the Anga Cable show

World premiere at the Anga Cable show! Dream Multimedia, the leading supplier of Linux-based set-top boxes, will be presenting two new HDTV Dreamboxes at the trade show in Cologne from 4. to 6. May 2010.
The prototypes of the DM800HD se and the DM7020HD models will be presented for the first time. And there are more new developments from Dream.

The Dream Multimedia HDD Case is an elegant eSata-USB solution for connecting external hard drives to a Dreambox or a personal computer. The case will fit a 3.5“ hard drive, and features the typical Dream design. A particular highlight is that the contents of the hard drive can be encrypted using either a numeric code or a smartcard.

The presentation at booth H40 will, however, focus on the new HDTV Dreamboxes. The DM800HD se features a new DVB-S2 tuner as well as a more powerful processor. In addition to two Smartcard readers it also comes equipped with an HDMI interface. An absolutely new feature in this second edition of the DM800HD is the multi-colour OLED display.

The prototype of the 7020HD, too, features an HDMI interface as well as an OLED display. This Dreambox comes equipped with a DVB-S2 tuner, and also has a socket for an additional plug-and-play tuner.
Appropriately, Dream will be presenting, for the first time, a plug-in DVB-S2 tuner module that can also be used in conjunction with the DM8000HD PVR.

Naturally Dream will also be showing other products at the Anga Cable show, such as the current best-selling Dreambox, the DM500HD and the flagship, the DM8000HD PVR. The Dreambox team looks forward to seeing you at our show booth, H40.

Well judging from The 500 HD I would guess the 800 HD-se+ would be 450-500 without a Hard-Drive and the 7020 HD would on the other side of 500 quid.

Both look lovely, both with the 400mzh Broadcom Processor, What I would be asking is does this mean the end or Discontinuation of the current 800 or will it run beside the current model.

Interesting with the level of clone DM800s been sold, this could take the edge off those sales with these new receivers having vastly superior specs over the clone.

Dont Think the Broadcom chip comes cheaply & would increase Clone production costs to a level where it would cost as much as a original Dreambox.

                    look great, but when?

I think they should be out for the 2012 Olympics if the past is anything to go buy! Was looking at the DM500HD, but may wait now!

I dont know if they will ! the Broadcom chip is not to cheap and have driven up the cost of the original Dreambox.

If China start cloning these newer receivers it will be with a different chip with reduced or over clocked processors, to keep the costs down.

I do not think most clone user will go for it if its not on power with the original receiver as it is at the moment regarding clone Dreamboxs as they are virtualy technically alike.

A new Clone Dreambox without a broadcom chip will not sell simply because its no where near the proformance that of the original.

All depends what you need the box to do really. Bit similiar to people buying 200mph cards and nowhere to drive them. Mostly bragging rights.
The average punter wants to watch tv, share in/out and have a stable image/epg/plugins etc.
Everything else is just an extra.

these boxs are top of the range and not for the beginer but if you like your hobbie and want the best most stable box then for me there are no better than a genuine dreambox. So boxes are coming out such as the vu+ box which has very good reviews but personaly i have not owned or tested one as good as the dreambox i own at the moment. So i for one will be sticking with dreambox till somthing beats them.If the 7020hd is as good as the 7020si i used to own then it will be a very good box
