Maplin 90cm dish
I bought a 90cm dish for a friend from Maplins last weekend and after measuring the reflector took it back to the store. The effective reflector size was only 81cm x 73cm and was obviously an 80cm dish not 90cm. Maplins initially stated that because it was an offset dish it had the same performance as a 90cm dish to which I replied they were talking b*llocks. After some fannying about they checked their other stock and they were all found to be 80cm Fortec Star dishes in a 90cm marked pack.
Being a weekend, their head office was closed so I went back to the store this week.
They stated that it was their buyers decision to advertise & box these dishes as 90cm dishes and could not supply me with a genuine 90cm dish, offering a full refund.
To date I have also not had a reply to my email to their customer services department.
The moral of this story is don?t be bullshitted by a Maplins ?expert? ~ Size Matters !
