got one as well. they say it will give dm8000hd a run for its money.. but personally i do not think so.. i have both dm8000hd and vu+ duo.

it is a good receiver but i prefer my dm8000hd as i can have more choice with and seems to be clearer on picture then the vu+duo.

price also is factor compare to dm8000hd which is twice the price but you get more for your money.

i see that alot of china companies have said that they have the clone last year and yet still no dm8000.

I heard reports of the DM8000 clone and have seen pics on another forum however im yet to see one on sale. The Ferrari sim team have released images so the clones must be somewhere but not on general release. I have a VU and its good, the pq varies wth the images. The only benefit I see over a DM800 clone is the processor speed and ram, its much faster. I still use the DM800 and im happy with that too.

dont the dream boxes suffer from over heating on hd channels and you need a laptop cooler with fan to keep it cool,vu+duo has a fan .

i have a dm8000 with a western digital HD and i have never had any overheating problems

ive had one for ages and pli images are good it also allows for 7 day epg put in a sata hdd and itll open up more fun for you

We were the first in the UK to start importing the VU+ DUO, we had the first batch in around January this year, and I have to say I have not stopped raving about it ever since!

They do what they should and more to the point they do it VERY well! Build quality to me is superior to the Dreambox as is picture quality (imo), it's obviously twin tuner, built in fan, far easier to flash a new firmware than Dreambox, works with all the plugins it needs to work with and is a great price compared to the Dreambox... I can't really see why you would choose Dreambox over VU+ at the moment based on price, quality and features, but as I say these are just my opinions.

If anyone ever wants to see one running and put it through it's paces they are more than welcome to come over and see us in Leicester for a try out!
