That's exactly it, I don't think there is any box in the world that will ever suit each and everyones needs, a case of deciding what you want from it then choosing the boxes that best fits the bill....

Very true, some may want movies, some may want sports, some may want doc's, get the box that suits you, and just dont give advice about other boxes, just stay with yours.

Many people do this and then get flamed at for being bias.

ive had a maxx1000 and now a protek 9600ip for the last 21 months and its the best money i have ever spent. the darkforce server is rock solid and has very few problems. the spiderbox is a better enthusiasts receiver but the server has been terrible recently. id say get a unix 500 then you have a dm500s clone with all its possabilities and connection to the server aswell. bargain!!!! regards mdt

Total agreement with mdt on this.
I've got the 9600 and the spiderbox and when it comes to a solid server there's no contest so far, shame really because the spiders a decent box but the powers that be have let this box down badly recently imo

I hope I'm not hijacking your thread pauls12 but I have been looking at these boxes aswell and can't decide what to go for either.I have narrowed my choices down to either a unix 500 or spiderbox 9000 hd.
Between these two can anyone tell me which is easier to use(easy to update etc),has best server stability and which is best for epl 3pms?
I fancy the protek hd 9750 but it's quite pricey and seemingly only gets the same as the unix 500 but with a few hd channels and no ability to share unlike the unix.

                              protek updates itself through internet.
