    The sun is out

    Hi Guys

well the sun is out and I feel that today is decision day

I have spoken to many people and have had mixed opinions

I wanted an 1.2 alloy motorised on T&K sitting just above the gutter on the back of my house the top of the dish would not be above the roof line (south facing garden)

however iv been advised that a 1.2 at that height would be dangerous in high winds and I should consider a 1.1 as a 1.1 is actually 30% smaller

    is this correct ?

    if so

would I lose much in the way of sats between these Dish sizes ?

Any opinions on here would be very welcome

    I'm based in Wolverhampton

    Thanks for any help

You will be in dispute with your council if you put a dish bigger than 90 cm on your house - if you want a 1.2 metre then you need to mount it on the ground stands.
You can buy hi-gain alloy dishes that are equal = 85cm to 1 metre standard. These can be put on your house as mine is motorised and i live in South Yorkshire and get most popular satellites. If you want any further advice go to www.irishgreyhoundracing.info and e-mail me through the provided slots. Include your e-mail for an answer.

Generally speaking, you're allowed upto a 1m dish, without planning these days...

A 1mt dish will be more than enough for general viewing at your location unless you are after the more difficult sats/channels.
I"m up near the humber and all the main sats between 30West & 42East are fine on a 1mt.

There is nothing to gain in having a 1.2m dish were you are over a 90cm dish...that bit extra in size would only get you a few mbc chnls on arabsat 26e...and a few verticals on nilesat in good weather!!!
