    Sky HD as Freeview

Hi one and all, mods please forgive me if i am posting in the wrong section and i have searched for this but no luck,

I just got a sky+ HD box for nothing and its new too, my question is i dont have sky only freeview and i live in the South of Ireland.

Is there a way for me to just watch freeview stations on it, i just unplugged my freeview sat cable and plugged it into back of sky box, needless to say all the functions are there but box reporting no signal, like i said i am a total newbee and i would dare say there are a few of you rolling about laughing now haha but any help would be appreciated, as to how to sort this if possble, thanks in advance.

Yes you can do this, however it sounds like you're only using one cable, in which case you have to enable single feed mode in the engineers menu (goto Settings, then press: 0, 1).

Ah I missed a bit, highlight picture then it's 0, 1, Select to get to the menu.

You'll notice the tab highlighted is now Setup, in there is where you'll find the single feed option.

'Fraid not, Sky have you by the balls there. If you want to record, it'll cost you ?10p/m.

A "Freesat From Sky" card which i assume you're refering to will only give access to the few FTV (free to view) channels, like Five,Fiver,Five USA,Sky3,C4HD and 5 hd (when it launches).

To be able to record on a Sky+HD box you either have to subscribe to at least the minimum package @ ?18pcm or pay a standalone ?10 pcm charge for the recording facility-The later is now only available to customers who are cancelling their subs though.

Wrong, you can purchase a freesat from Sky card at anytime that will allow you to get the recording facility for ?10pm this is not only an option available when cancelling
