No satellite signal - can anybody help?

I use a normal sky box and am getting no satellite signal error 29 on every channel. Have tried switching everything off overnight but it didn't work. Is there anything else i can try before I have to call sky?

have a check that the cable from the dish is still secure and the dish itself looks clear.can you get the menu up to check the signal? "services">4 system set up>6 signal test.

I've traced the cable back - it looks ok as far as i can see - the dish is high up so i can't get up next to it. On the signal test - the strength is about 60% but the quality is 0. Lock indicator is not locked. Any ideas what to try next?

if you had a friend/neighbour that has sky you could ask if you could try your box on their dish ,if the box works ok in another house it would mean either your dish has become misalinged (due to winds etc) or the lnb (the thing that sticks out in front of the dish) has failed ,or try and get your hands on another box it doesnt have to be a sky box and hook it up to your dish ,if that box works your skybox has to be replaced. if the box does not work in the other house then your probably going to need a replacement sky box. if you only bought it recently (under 12 months) it should still be covered by the gaurantee.
