You can get a TECHNOMATE TM-5200 D SUPER+ USB PVR for around ?55.

1080 SAT HD PCI SATELLITE TV PCI PVR CARD (to go in your pc) for around ?45

MANHATTAN PLAZA UPM PVR READY BY USB for around ?80

TELSKY S 150 PVR BY USB SATELLITE RECEIVER for around ?60

160g THOMSON 8210 SKY+ PLUS BOX PVR SATELLITE RECEIVER for around ?70

TECHNOMATE TM 600 & CARD READER DVB / USB / PVR for around ?80

the tm600 been my choice. it would also allow you to change your mind later on if so desired.

HI manxspud, many thanks for your reply,

I've been reading around and contacting a few suppliers of electronics I have in China and they're quoting me in the region of $100-125 USD for Dreambox DM600S boxes, I'm assuming these are obviously cheap chinese clones/copies, is this box any good?

This is all in preparation for when I do my bedroom up and I'm toying between either a satellite pvr (which would be the most straightforward) or just to use a media centre PC, but i'm assuming this would chew through more electricity and be a lot more cumbersome to setup also!

what are peoples views on the DM600S for that kinda price?

      with thanks

As scam says the tm600 is solid with UR img. tbh i don't see the point of getting a clone dm600 when you can get a original tm600 for a few ?'s more. it is a really good box.

Hm, I've been reading up about this whole dreambox/satellite 'scene' and how to get 'paying' channels etc

The TM600 I have been looking into, but only thing stopping me getting is the fact that it doesnt have an S-Video output and I can't think of another way to hook it up to my LCD panel (has VGA/DVI/S-Video/RCA inputs)

also, its worth mentioning that the house i'm going to be installing this receiver into is next door to another house which I also own and live in (we've got 2 houses next to each other) and the other house currently has a 12month SkyHD subscription with 4 mixes....

is there any way that I can receive these channels on the other side too?

i understand theres something about cloning the viewing card and inserting that into the non-sky receiver?
