Hi there I have not played with satelite systems in a while but have a question, a friend of mine has cabo tv, he currently views his channels threw a dreambox connected threw the internet. he got his setup from a guy who he pays ?30.00 per quarter for his channels (I believe this might be what we used to call card sharing but not sure) Aparently this guy pays for his channels somewhere in spain not sure if is card sharing but rekon it might be.

my question is, is this Legal and if not who is liable for prosecusion, the guy selling, the guy viewing or both.

if it is legal or there is a legal way for this to work. how exactly does it work.

any help is appreciated as I would have to normally pay ?23 pcm for basic package but if this is legal and cheap think is a great idea.

oh well that puts an end to that then, is there a cheaper way to get cabo officially that is, can you buy a year subscription for example cheaper from the uk

Nope, cabo only do monthly subs i believe.

for now we all have to pay for it to get a good service and it will be a long time tell any thing comes throw if ever

well if it`is illegal what is is called this using of dreambox connected threw the internet, is this actually called card shareing and if so how exactly does it work, (p.s. don't want to know how to do it just the principle of how it works I believe this is still within the rules)

Yes, it's def illegal mate... theft of services etc...

It works by using an internet connection to 'share' card details.

The problem with CS is that you can be usually identified from your connection so u need to choose your server / service carefully.

Dodgy cable boxes played around in that dodgy grey area -- CS is theft, pure and simple.

thanks thats all I needed to know, it sounds like if someone wanted to they could trace someones ip address and catch them all too risky to even think about as you are putting your sfety on whoever is runing the server anyway end of discussion for this forum thanks all regards Japn

i dont think you will be of any major danger of being locked up because you are connected to some server in turkey or morroco.

Its illegal though 100%
