    Will this one work?

    Hi,
I'm hoping to split the signal from the satellite feed into my home so I can watch satellite TV in two different rooms through two different satellite boxes, instead of using a video sender or using a coax from one satellite box to another.
I've looked on eBay for these items but I'm not sure if these auctions are suitable or not, could ye please let me know if they'll work?
eBay.ie: 2 Way TV Satellite Video Signal Coaxial Cable Splitter (item 250655251821 end time 22-Jul-10 15:43:47 BST)

    eBay.ie: TV Aerial & Satellite LNB Signal F Combiner/Splitter (item 230390184828 end time 15-Aug-10 20:18:40 BST)

I'd really appreciate it if ye could help me out and let me know if these ones would do the job.
    Thanks very much in advance

    Second one says this
(Not Suitable for splitting the same frequency into two i.e. will not split a Satellite LNB feed to supply 2 receivers or a Cable TV feed to supply 2 Cable TV Boxes)

If it's a fixed dish jsut fix a dual/quad lnb. They are cheap as chips.

Cheers for your reply. But would a dual LNB be a lot harder to do than just splitting the signal? I've read that signal splitting is very easy but just can't find the equipment needed. Any chance you'd know where to get the stuff needed for splitting?
And I looked up about the dual LNB, but don't really understand it tbh. Sorry about the newbieness

You still ahve to run 2 lots of cable.
Just remove the lnb and replace with a sky quad ln, less than a tenner.

eBay.ie: new type sky quad lnb.FREE POST AND ADAPTOR FOR OLD DIS (item 260624617160 end time 23-Jul-10 17:05:15 BST)

Or could one be found for cheaper? I've looked up dual lnbs also but for some reason they're actually dearer than the quads! incl. postage that is but still....
            Thanks mate, appreciate the replies

You will need twin or quad lnb, end off. Forget using a splitter.

Its dead easy like Manic said, unscrew the screw/s holding current lnb and put the new twin or quad lnb in its place.
You then have two ( or four if quad ) outputs then just get your coax and away you go.
You OK with stripping back coax and attaching f-connectors ?

also use the proper cable as inferior cable will give problems later.always handy to have a few extra connections on lnb as later you may want another box or 2.
