    monoblock problems

Hi all i have a zome 1 sky dish and was on astra 19?east with it but just bought a monoblock so i can get hotbird and astra together i installed the monoblock if i was looking from the rear of the dish clamp on the left side and alligned the dish to hotbird.

got good signals on hotbird and set the reciever to hotbird a and astra b

trouble is i get a good scan on hotbird but astra seems to be picking up bskyb sky uk scans about 80 channels then ends the scan i have slightly raised the astra side lnb to around 10 oclock as some guide state but makes no difference!

anyone any ideas why i can not pick up astra ?

hotbird is fine and scane in all channels

    any help much appreciated thanks

From what I can gather your monoblock may have a 6.2 degree separation. I dont understand how,if you line up dish on Hotbird 13, you could be picking up 28e. You say you are picking up bskyb channels....What are they? and can you actually see/view them?

yes the channels are like e4/channel 4/s4c bbc channels north west and other regions etc and are viewable when selected from the 19.2 tab

the monoblock has previously worked fine for astra and hotbird on my dad's dish although his was a round dish rather than an oval one.

the monoblock lnb is not suitable for use on a sky mini dish mono blocks work best on an 80cm std dish.(although I have used them on 1mt dishes)

hi m8...you say looking from behind the dish the clamp is on the left!! it would need to be offset to the right..looking from behind the dish..as astra 1 signals would bounce off the dish to the right of the dish while on hotbird..not sure what results you will get off a zone 1 though..but worth a try..

              If you're receivingthese channels you're picking up Astra2/EB1 @ 28.2/5 E not 19.2 E m8...therfore you wont be able to pick up 13 E with a monobloc

These pictures are correct, it is the way I have my setup but with a 80 cm dish and it works perfectly, the way it was designed to do.
