how do i link 2 receivers to 1 motorised dish

    Hi

    I have a tm6900 hd combo super+ and a dm500s.

What I would like to do is control the dish from either receiver.

I have read the forums about using the loop through or a switch.

tried the loop through and the signal is degraded.

not sure on what type of switch I would need and also which is compatible to both receivers.

I am currently looking to upgrade my dm500s to another tm6900.

Any guidance will be gratefully received.

I think it will but only one box will control the motor, the rest will have to watch what the main box satellite is on.

ITgate TGM220 (swapable tuner), Dreambox 800 pro, Dreambox 500c x 2, DBox, Popbox media player.

Yes that is what I ment, if he wants to watch 2 different channels not on same polarity at the same time then fixed LNB must be used.

I use a twin LNB, with 2 cables going to 2 receivers. The main receiver controls the movement of the dish. Another cheaper way is use the loop through on the main receiver to another receiver. I don't know if you lose quality with this method, with both receivers on.

You are correct, only 1 box will control the motor.

Due to a severe downturn in the economy the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off until further notice.
