hi guys i've been in the dbox forums for years but with the nagra 3 encryption lingering over us its time to switch to satelite the only proble is i dont no where to start i no everything to do with a dbox flashing images and keys but nothing about sattelite so here i go

1.i have a sky minidish installed outside pointing at the sky satelite.
2.i have just picked up for ?4 a echostar dsb-717 with remote
3.what can i do with it do i set it to a perticular sattelite or will it work from the sky sattelite
4.what programs could i possibly recieved if all was set up correctly
5.is it any good

the reciever you have got is ok for the fta stuff on [email protected] but thats all., get yourself a dm500s clone and then google c/s and all will be revealed. seeing you are used to the dbox you should have any linux based satellite receiver up and running in no time. regards mdt
