people opinions of the best and they fav satellites up there

ok the purpose of this thread is that iv been using dishpointer site and now realize that il have some line of sight issures with trees around me depending on where i locate my dish will derterme wat sats il get ok. im on 1m motorised dish in belfast.

if people could list the main sats and ones they like best in order? is there a sit i can find wat channels are on them?

Wouldn't it be easier to list the satellites you can receive? there's no point people suggesting sats if you cant receive them...

Mario I have a 100cm dish in Donegal and I receive the following satellites:

30.0 W
12.5 W
5.0 W
4.8 E
0.8 W
7.0 E
10.0 E
13.0 E
16.0 E
19.2 E
23.5 E
26.0 E
28.2 E
39.0 E
42.0 E


If you are chatting about FTA my favourite sats are:

28.2 e - for the bbcs and itvs

26.0 e - for the mbc channels (with english movies and tv series as well as one al jazeera sport channel, two sd and one hd abu dhabi sports and also two bahrain sports channels.

5.0 w - Some French channels fta which show fta heniken cup will show the community shield this Sunday.

42.0 e - I only watch one channel on this sat called TNT. It has many english speaking movies and tv series (like lost and
bones)

10.0 e - Sometimes handy for feeds especially for rugby matches

13.0 e - For the shear amount of fta channels if you flick through them all there is bound to be something on! Also has al jazeera sport channel and abu dhabi sport channel.

19.2 e - Luckily I can speak German so this would be personally my fav. satellite but even if you do not it has eurosport in german fta ( which shows more events than british eurosport eg. world and european qualifiers) it also has two MTV channels and there are many american shows on these channels which are American so there is english audio and german subtitles.

I cant decide whether to motorise or have a multi-lnb setup.
If you had a choice of only 4 satellites - could you live with that, or is it a matter of once you're used to motors theres no going back?

You could easily live with 13e and 19e - thats were most of the good stuff resides in my opinion.

Hi mario,people with clear sight set dish up on a south facing wall.Can your trees be cut to give you sight?other than that your dish might need to be setup high as poss.If the trees put a shadow on your dish odds are your sight will be blocked.

yh i have to ask next door about that but if not coz i dont want to block the sats with the 3pms kickoff is there 1 what has the most?
