motor dish setup help

hi .. i hope someone can help me out ..

I have 1m dish which is motorized and im just putting it together so i can install it tomorrow, I've gone through all the tutorial on how to set it up but im a bit confused about 1 thing ..

I've set the motor to the right latitude for my address (53.3) so thats ok, but on my dish mount it also has a latitude scale so do I set that to the same as the motors latitude or set it to 0 ..

Offset or primke focus dish?
Offset, the dish will be just off of the vertical when set up for 1 west.
Dunno about prime focus dishes.

thanks for the response my dish is off-set (that what is says on the assembly instructions ) but it doesn't really answer my question ..

in the back pages of the motor manual it has a table with different stuff on it :

Your Site Latitude : 53
Elevation Angle : 37
Declination Angle : 7.6
Dish Bracket Angle 22.4

so if i move the elevation angle on the motor to 37 and the dish to 22.4 should that be ok.

Im seriously confused..

hi, best thing you can do is take no notice of the scale on the DISH as they are not accurate anyway. set your MOTOR angle to 53 and then ajust the DISH angle up and down and your motor LEFT+RIGHT untill you have a good quality(70-80%) on 1west(start with bbc world on 11.325.h.24500) and then fine tune on say 12.607.h.27500 and 12.607.v.27500.
if you are using usals make sure you enter your lat and long details in the stb and then select thor@1west and ok to send your dish to 1 west before you start aligning the dish.
i know it seems difficult but if your pole is 100% plumb, your lat and long settings are correct in the stb and on the motor(53) then its just a case of making small movements untill you get the best possible signal then tighten all the bolts up.
