lost signal

i've got a dm800 hd clone and an 80cm motorised dish, for the past couple of days i've been losing my signal, the cable from the reciever to the motor isn't quite long enough to reach the lnb but if i connect it plus the cable from the lnb to my satellite finder then it works ok

now i did this yesterday morning then hooked everything back up to the motor and lost the signal again so played around with the connection from the reciever to the motor a few times and it eventualy started working again and was fine all day until around 11pm last night when it went off again

this morning i hooked up the cables through the sat finder again and it worked but as soon as i connected them to the motor i lost the signal, i've got a green led on the motor which is lit when the box is turned on and i can drive the dish without any problems

i've just tried connecting everything through the sat finder again and can't get any signal on the reciever, the sat finder is powered and is picking up the signal from the satellite though

any idea if it's a problem with the tuner in the reciever or could it just be a bad connection?

it's working again for now

think it's a dodgy connection or cable as i tested an old fta box just to make sure it's not the tuner in the dm800 and didn't get a signal so played around with the connections until it worked, switched back to the dreambox and it's fine
