    Spiderbox Question....

Ok Guys, So I am thinking about getting a Spiderbox now that Nagra 3 has hit my area. I have done quite a bit of research and I understand how to set it up and all of that stuff.

But the guy that I am going to buy one off wants to know the satellite setup I currently have so that he can set it up for me before he sends it to me so it is "plug and play" when I set it up.

    He wants to know:

    - Is it a fixed, twin motorised etc. I think I have fixed.
    - And what the satellite dish points to (astra, hotbird etc)

Ok, so I may sound really thick here but I am not sure about the second question, my Dad said that we have a fixed satellite so that clears that up but how do I know what it points to? I am in the Manchester area and I had a quick look here Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com

Just need a bit of help before ordering the box though.

Anybody help us out with this?

    Thanks in advance

      Cheers for the reply mate.

So is that all he would need to be able to set it up so that I could receive the channels in my area?

I can just use the following to find out my longitude and latitude right:

Latitude and Longitude Finder - map coordinates

The dish outside is this one:

And we currently get the sports package with Virgin but apparently we don't get the signal from the dish for that but the dish is still working fine.

The guy who I am talking to about the Spiderbox is asking what sat (astra, hotbird etc) and I am not sure what I say to that?

you really is best looking into getting a motorized sat dish to get the best out of the spiderbox. as the "gift" as plenty of channels on a wide choice of sats.or a static one with a couple LNB's pointing at the sats you prefer.

Thanks for the help guys. The dish isn't being used at the minute, we had Sky a while ago and I think that it was being used for that. It is still working fine but being unused at the minute.

The seller said that he would sort the gift channels out and the channels would be the following:

EDIT: Could not post the link to the channels here, so I sent the link to you via private message.

Would I be fine with my current set up or would I have to buy a motorized dish. Would my current set up get all the channels or just some of them?

would highly suggest a motorized system for a spiderbox to enjoy it fully. as you wont get anything on your sky dish with the spider. but the rest of the sats out there are great, and is fantastic if you into your football etc. have you looked into get a full system with the spider included. there is some on flea bay and other sats stores online.full package and good prices for what you will get

Stock of the Spiderbox across all models is also in fairly short supply at the moment from most UK dealers (most probably because of the start of the new football season) so if you do decide this is what you want probably best to get in sooner rather than later

without throwing a spanner in the works would a protek or max give him the footy channels he may want with a twin lnb,as that box updates itself.??
