    Breaking up

Hi all just a quick question.... when the weather is as bad as today ie:- rain, dark clouds, windy and misserable type of weather, is the picture meant to break up, as this is happening on most basic if not all channles on my box.

When i had sly back in the day i remember that it used to happen a few times, but i dont remember as bad as i have got now, any answers appriciated.

PS:- dish is precise as i had it aligned by a professional, well so said .

it depends on a few thing like what sat are you breaking up on the size of your dish.Is water getting into the f conectors or your lnb.Even though you had your dish set for you the wind can still blow them out of line

Ok i think when the weather settles i will look at it again, but the dish is a 90cm dish and yes when the wind blows it does interfer with the pic breaking up but when it stops blowing, or when the weather clears up it seems fine again, and im on 13, 16, 19.2, 28.2 e and all get a bit, no i mean alot of inteferance i can not even watch a few seconds of the terestrial channles (bbc, itv etc) .

Sounds liKe it's out of line a dish that size should pull in them sats no problem it would be worth checking your f plugs to make sure they are tight and water proof

                Hello

                I have the same problem.
I had a standard sky set up installed a few months back,A sky engineer realigned my dish recently but I'm still loosing some channels in bad weather they just come up as "no satellite signal being received" this even happens with some of the free channels. As far as i know all the F connectors are tight and waterproof and the dish has already been realigned.Any idea what the problem could be? any advice would be appreciated.

it could an issue with objects such as trees obstructing the dishes view of 28e your lnb may be on its way out your best bet is to ring sky and get them to have another look

                    Hello

There's a clear view in front of the dish but when the sky engineer came out he did put the dish on a longer pole to push it away from the house,he also checked the lnb and said it was fine. The engineer did a signal test and said it was fine but this was on a dry day.I took out a multiroom subscription, does this make a difference to the signal?, also do you know any free or normal rate phone numbers for contacting sky?
                    Thank you for your help.

Now its sunny the reception is a lot better but the dish is not picking up nothing on 1w, and bbc world should be showing i take it because when i first set it up it had this when even i had not set up the cccam ? this should be available yes ?

i have also fine tuned the longitude using the settings on the box which makes a difference in reception on the astra channles, so do you think its out with ladder and playing around with the dish / lnb ?

or is 1w not showing and yes i have subscribed.

It does sound sound like your dish is out bbc world on 1W is a good strong FTA channel and you should have no problem receiving it.11.325 H 24500. also check pole is 100% plumb.

Just an update i decided to get the ladder out and check all connection, before i did i checked the incline with my inclometer (great toy), and it was slightly out by approx 2% so i decided to straighten it up a touch ? the secure nuts were solid so i knew it had not moved in the weather it was that well secured by the satellite fitter who aligned the dish for me, who when i contacted him over the weekend stated that he was ademant that he had set it correct, but he would come out to check it again for me if i booked him in.

i got that thinking feeling that he must of done it correct as he used this big box to locate the sats, so i thought f#*k that and adjust the lnb slightly myself to see if that works as stated in numwerous post regarding that problem.

anyway i decied to play around with lnb skewing slightly clockwise and it located BBC world news to my suprise, then i knew it had to be the lnb which was causing the problem, i continued to skew the lnb until a good signal then tightened it all up, and voila picking up the W side on the arch now and happy days.

Thanks again guys for all your help.
