Hey guys I would be very grateful if anyone could give me a complete guide to setting up a dreambox from scratch as a novice. I have been searching around for a while but have not been able to find anything meaningful. I know there are a lot of gurus in this forum that could help. I know there are alot of people like me who needs same help.
              thanks in advance

We were all novices once mate!

You have to be prepaired to read up and then read some more, this forum and others are full of guides/tutorials that covers the basics, once you done some reading, come back and ask some more specific questions if you get stuck.

But dont expect to be led by the hand...

                      Part one

You will need a satellite dish set up, fixed or motorised (motorise will get you more channles if needed). have a read here

Get your box ie:- Dreambox 500s, and load / flash your image onto the box here and here

Once all is connected and set up you will need to scan for channles and voila. (you will only get free to air channles at this point).

                      -------------------------------------------------------------
                      Part two

                      Additional info for extra channles...

                      You need to have broadband.

Load CCcam onto your box via ftp. (lots of guides around how to do this).

You need to have a cardsharing account. (google CS as we dont disscuss this here)

Then you have everything, to enjoy all the channels.

I hope this is a bit more clearer
