The way I originally done mine and have done ever since, is to point it due south, and get 1w... Then do some fine tuning, you are best using a sat meter to get the optimal signal position. With BBC World Service as the channel with a good strong signal.

You also need to set up the alignment of the bracket with the incline and bits. You can get the required incline from websites which will give you the positions required, i.e. 52.3 N 1.285 east.

If u have a room window near where u dish is then set the settings to 1w strongest transponder and if u have
a small lcd tv hook your box onto and place the tv on
the window sill so as you move the dish u can keep
an eye on the signal on the tv till you see it going up.

I bought a cable so i can move my dish as i said above
then when i move my box downstairs i have the perfect
signal. I tried those cheap meters but could never get
it close as watching it on a screen.

I move my box and small tv to my spare room then move
it downstairs when its set, works for me every time.

Dont forget to set the elevation.

You can add a waypoint for any satellite in google earth, that works quite well for giving the direction to point.

Dont know the strongest transponder on 5w but you could try France5 France 3 France 2 on 11591 V 20000 2/3 which I always pick up easily from a fixed dish.
                Best of luck.

yes mate 5W is your best ref satellite and only 1 degree off due south for you, and the TP Pat gave you is a good FTA one to set up on.
