    cant get 16 east

ok so i just installed a triax 1.1 with motor and get 1 west,7 east ,hotbird,19east,28 east and so on
but for the life of me i cant grab 16 east

i know its moved to 15.8 and have tried adjust the everything and i have adjusted the skew slightly but its got me beat

    heres my settings

Your Location Satellite Data Dish Setup Data Latitude: 54.968?
    Longitude: -1.450?
    Name: 0.8W Thor 2,3
    Distance: 38857km
    Elevation:27.3?
    Azimuth (true): 179.2?
    Azimuth (magn.): 181.9?
    LNB skew: -0.5?

my box is set as 55 north and 1.4 west, my motor is set to 55 degrees only difference is the scale on my dish is set to 25 degrees as thats got me the best signal on 1 west

i cant think why i cant grab it unless im defo of the arc but like i said ive tried fine tweaking it

any help or advice much appreciated

    hello mate, try and help,
with a motorised dish skew should be set to zero when due south it will automatically lean over as the dish moves.16E does need the dish to point to it accurately. Is your pole 100% plumb if its not you may still be able to get most sats but miss 16E.dish scales are not accurate.go back to 1W with usals check pole is 100% upright then move whole motor/dish assembly L/R and dish only up/down to get max signal.then fine tune your longitude in the stb 0.2 degrees at a time E/W to peak the signal. If everything is now ok you should pick 16E up

Your elevation for 1west is correct at 27.3 degrees.
Move your dish back to Thor 1W and check the azimuth reading on the motor.
It should be around –0.7 degrees for you location. With a Diseqc motor spindle angle of 30 degrees, your dish elevation setting should be 30 – 7.8 degrees = 22.2 degrees ~ not 25 degrees. (motor spindle angle – declination angle for location) When you have set up 1 west correctly 16east should be about -19 azimuth angle on the motor. For a guide to fine adjust the dish path to hit all available satellites see appendix 1 of my diseqc setup tut on DK downloads ~ sat section. Stay with it!

I had another thought after I posted. As Dick B suggested your mounting pole may not be vertical and may have move out of true due to the weight of the dish & motor. Your dish angle of 25 deg and my calculation of 22.2 deg suggests this may be the case. Check you pole is vertical using a plumb line (some spirit levels are inaccurate). Set your motor to 0.7 deg east, your dish elevation to 22.2 deg & your motor latitude to 55 deg. Then loosen the motor dish assembly and swing east/west until you pickup BBC World news on Thor 1 west (11325/H/24500~7/8). This should put your dish on the correct arc and all you then need to do is fine tune each satellite.
