so im thinking of 2morrow when i get my dish up tomorrow of aiming it to the south the shawdow i recorded then sending it to 5w on the dreambox as im in ireland the prob is i dont have i signal metre im worried i wont be able to find a signal thing and i dont have any channel settings for 5w on my pli jade image i only heard about them today. will i need these? and if so where can i get them from?

also i just noticed on my lnb is a bit to the right i brought it 2nd hand from i guy about 30miles from me. but i didnt think i had to change the skew on a motorished setup or do i?

Mario I have a similar dilema, my dish is set up but it aint right. So I bit the bullet and I have ordered myself a decent satfinder, and i am going to give it a go in the next week or so. But you seem to have a bit of guessing going on there with the shadows thing. I suppose your going to rely on the mrs screaming at you when the signal levels are at their best on your box.
Try and borrow a compass to get your set position.
Leave the beer alone the nght before....Good luck!!!!

hello mate regarding the skew no you shouldnt have to adjust it.it should be set to zero on a motorised dish though some fine tune it on their target sat I"ve never had to do that and get good averages on all the sats I use with H & V polarities.
PS; its worth getting a cheap
      xlx/chess meter they do help.
